Pontiff Francis meets transgender man
Pope Francis met with transgender man Diego Neria Lejárraga (pictured right) and his fiancée on Saturday January 24th at the Vatican. The Pope agreed to meet Diego after Diego wrote to him telling him about the constant discrimination he experiences in church since he converted from a woman to a man. According to Spanish newspaper, Hoy, Diego, who was labelled 'the devil’s daughter' by a priest said: “After hearing him on many occasions, I felt that he would listen to me.”

BH: Bomb Maker Arrested In Yobe
A man suspected of being behind the manufacture of explosives used in a series of Boko Haram suicide attacks in Nigeria has been arrested in northeast Nigeria, a senior police officer has told AFP.
The man, identified only as Ba’na, was held in the Arikime area of Potiskum, in Yobe State after several weeks of surveillance.
Sad: 85 Year-Old Beheaded In Benin
An 85 year-old community leader in Arougba village, in Oredo local government area of Benin metropolis, Goodluck Uwumahongie, has been beheaded by unknown persons, over alleged land tussle.
He was said to have been alone at his in-law’s residence at Irhirhi village when the attackers struck.
Police sources confirmed that the killers left with the victim’s head. The assailants were said to have shot late octogenarian before they chopped off his head.
