Court Throws Out Mr. Sullivan Chime’s Libel Suit Against Guardian Newspaper Twice
The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has upheld the
dismissal of a N1.5bn libel suit instituted by Governor of Enugu State, Mr.
Sullivan Chime, against The Guardian Newspaper and Chief Okechukwu Ezea, his
opponent in the 2007 gubernatorial election.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a trader, Mr.
Lawrence Ikonne, for allegedly killing a buyer, Isa Yaya, because the deceased
haggled over the price of a commodity.
The incident occurred at Ikonne’s residence on Afro Close,
Afromedia Estate, Okokomaiko, Lagos. Ikonne is a trader selling electronic
appliances at Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos.
